Workforce Planning Analyst - WFM
Join Optum in Noida as a Workforce Planning Analyst (WFM) and play a pivotal role in optimizing our operational efficiency. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical background to develop and execute staffing plans that align with business objectives, service level agreements, and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive forecasts and staffing plans to guide hiring, training, and deployment strategies, ensuring business partners are equipped with essential data to meet service levels and financial goals.
- Articulate staffing plans, associated risks, and strategic recommendations to Vice Presidents and Directors, fostering collaboration to adapt plans based on evolving business needs.
- Analyze inventory levels and performance metrics against targets to inform and direct workflow.
- Communicate the daily work direction plan effectively to Operations Supervisors, Managers, Directors, and VPs.
- Maintain and administer the skills/profiles database and routing prioritization logic to ensure accurate work assignment.
- Conduct real-time monitoring of data and metrics, identify inventory and performance issues, and promptly escalate concerns.
- Planning & Forecasting:
- Construct and sustain staffing models for Operations areas, demonstrating a deep understanding of business objectives, inventory, and performance metrics.
- Regularly present to and collaborate with Operations/Business partners, including VPs and Directors, on staffing models, data analysis, and recommendations for service improvement and cost reduction.
- Partner with Workforce, Operations, and other business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy within models for both onshore and offshore operations, including vendor planning.
- Develop innovative and strategic business solutions for staffing or inventory challenges, creating models to facilitate data-driven decision-making by senior leadership.
- Additional Key Responsibilities:
- Support the creation and upkeep of reports, dashboards, and monthly packages detailing staffing, inventory, production levels, aging of inventory, and performance effectiveness.
- Act as a Trusted Advisor by delivering high partner satisfaction through training on tools, reports, dashboards, and processes, and by serving as a readily available resource to all Business Partners.
- Drive innovation and process improvement within Workforce Management, contributing expertise to local and national project teams to enhance organizational efficiency.
- Adhere to all employment contract terms, company policies, procedures, and directives, understanding the company's discretion in policy and directive adjustments due to business evolution.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in business/finance analysis or workforce forecasting and planning.
- Over 2 years of advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including the ability to work with large datasets, utilize VLOOKUPs, create pivot tables and graphs, and apply standard formulas and functions.
- More than 2 years of experience analyzing data from multiple sources to identify trends and outliers for issue detection and problem resolution.
- At least 1 year of experience with back-office or call center transaction and production tracking applications.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively present data, trend analysis, work direction, performance concerns, action plans, solutions, and opportunities.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule as needed, with a standard daily start time between 7 AM and 8 AM Central Time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience communicating with and presenting to VPs or Directors, providing performance status, recommendations, and collaborating on solutions.
- Background in capacity modeling, Six Sigma/process improvement, or project management.
- Experience leading medium-sized projects.
- Familiarity with MS Access and the ability to interpret queries.
- Experience maintaining an automated work routing application in a back-office setting, such as an enterprise work router.
- Experience with scheduling applications like IEX.
- Proficiency in Tableau with the ability to create ad hoc reports.
- Experience using MS Visio for process flows and mapping.
- Knowledge of the Healthcare Industry, its products, and services.
- Proven adaptability and the ability to navigate change positively and effectively.
