Full Job Description
- Role Overview:
- Create and customize WordPress themes using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript; ensure mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and high performance.
- Plugin Development:
- Design custom plugins, modify existing ones using hooks/actions/filters to extend functionality while maintaining core compatibility.
- Maintenance & Optimization:
- Manage installations, backups, updates; troubleshoot bugs; optimize speed via caching and image lazy loading; harden security against vulnerabilities.
- Front-End Skills:
- Convert Figma/PSD mockups to functional themes; implement animations and interactive UI using frameworks like React or Vue for headless setups.
- Back-End & Database:
- Write efficient PHP code, manage custom post types (CPT), taxonomies, user roles, MySQL databases, REST APIs, and AJAX integrations.
- E-commerce:
- Develop WooCommerce stores with payment gateways, shipping APIs, and cart logic; maintain product/order systems.
- SEO & Accessibility:
- Apply on-page SEO (schema markup, clean URLs), ensure WCAG accessibility compliance, and optimize for search engines.
- Collaboration & Tools:
- Communicate with designers/marketers; use Git/version control; work in staging environments; provide client training/docs and post-launch support.
- Key Skills: WordPress Core, PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS/JS, REST API, Git, SEO basics, Responsive Design, Security/Hardening.
