WordPress Developer - Kolkata, West Bengal

Red Apple Technologies Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced WordPress Developer for a full-time, in-person role in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio showcasing custom theme and plugin development. This is a 5-day working week position.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance, functionality, and user experience.
• Convert PSD or Figma files to HTML and then integrate them into WordPress.
• Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific client requirements.
• Develop and maintain WordPress-based websites utilizing the latest technologies and best practices.
• Collaborate effectively with design, marketing, and other development teams to ensure a superior user experience.
• Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO, employing techniques like caching and image optimization.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within existing WordPress websites.
• Implement WordPress security best practices to safeguard sites from common threats.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in WordPress development.
• Build responsive and mobile-friendly websites.
• Manage MySQL databases and perform custom queries.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in WordPress development.
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Extensive experience with WordPress theme development and responsive design.
• Expertise in customizing WordPress functionality using hooks, filters, and APIs.
• Solid understanding of WordPress core concepts (custom post types, taxonomies, custom fields).
• Experience with popular WordPress plugins and frameworks like WooCommerce, ACF, and WPML.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills: WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PSD to HTML conversion, Figma to HTML conversion.

Preferred Skills: REST API, AJAX, Magento, Joomla.
