About the Role

Join Amazon Robotics as a WHS Officer in our Gurgaon/Gurugram, India facility. In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with our site operations team to uphold stringent company safety policies and ensure strict adherence to all local and regional regulations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizen methodologies, you will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing conditional and ergonomic risks within our processes, fostering a safe and healthy working environment for our associates. The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to build trust and confidence with operations teams, driving change through comprehensive risk assessments and insightful safety data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon Safety Policies.
• Measure site performance against published safety policy requirements, developing and implementing plans to rectify any identified deficiencies.
• Deliver high-quality projects to Operations on time.
• Analyze safety metrics and review weekly and monthly incident trends to identify patterns and justify resource allocation to high-risk areas.
• Conduct frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes, implementing solutions to eliminate risks and prevent injuries across other fulfillment centers.
• Audit recordkeeping practices and Global Safety Database entries for compliance with global safety standards and local regulations.
• Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure accuracy and consistency in training, auditing, and scoring methods.
• Manage and mentor Safety Associates within your assigned fulfillment center.
• Engage directly with fulfillment centers, soliciting input from Safety teams, associates, and leaders on safety program improvement opportunities, ensuring open communication on progress and resolutions.
• Ensure site leadership and associates are thoroughly trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy, auditing the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training.

What You'll Bring

• Experience in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics and Communication/Instrumentation and Controls.
• Minimum of 2 years of increasing responsibility in EHS or environmental programs within manufacturing, production, or service operations, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• A Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental science, or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in reputable organizations.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple direct reports.
• Flexibility regarding work shifts.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational setting.
• Certification such as Nebosh/ADIS or a Bachelor's degree with relevant safety experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Fulfillment Center or Manufacturing environment, construction, supply chain management, or safety roles within sites of at least 200 employees (mix of exempt and non-exempt) is highly preferred.
• A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Experience thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing organization.
• Possession of a Safety Certified Professional designation is a plus.
• Ability to develop and implement departmental goals and strategies effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments with evolving circumstances, direction, and strategy.
