Full Job Description
Job Summary
The Site Safety Officer at Amazon Robotics will partner closely with site operations teams within our Fulfillment Centers to champion and implement company safety policies. This role is critical for ensuring strict adherence to all local and regional safety regulations. By applying lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies like kaizen events, you will drive initiatives to minimize conditional and ergonomic risks within our operational processes, thereby fostering a secure and healthy work environment for all associates.
A key aspect of this position involves building strong relationships and trust with the Operations team, influencing positive change through thorough risk assessments and insightful safety data analysis. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator, delivering clear, concise, and consistent messages both verbally and in writing. You will be responsible for training Operations Leaders on company safety policies and assisting site teams in integrating these safety standards into their daily routines. Furthermore, you will identify, document, and incorporate best practices into our existing safety policies to drive ongoing improvement.
This role also includes leadership responsibilities for a safety team, potentially comprising Safety Specialists, Safety Coordinators, and Onsite First Aid Associates. You will be tasked with creating and executing leadership development plans for your team members, clearly communicating expectations, providing regular and constructive feedback, and ensuring they meet the core competencies of an Amazon safety professional.

- Monitor and measure site performance against established safety policy requirements. Develop and implement corrective action plans for any identified deficiencies.

- Audit recordkeeping practices and entries in the Global Safety Database to ensure alignment with global safety standards and local regulations.
- Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to verify the accuracy and consistency of training, auditing, and scoring methodologies.
- Manage and mentor Safety Associates within your assigned Fulfillment Center.
- Actively engage with Fulfillment Centers, seeking input from Safety teams, associates, and leaders on opportunities for safety program improvement. Maintain open communication regarding the progress and resolution of these suggestions.
- Ensure site leadership and associates are adequately trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each safety policy. Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training, including trainer qualifications.
