Well Engineer

Senior Well Engineer - Gurgaon, India

Halliburton is seeking a highly experienced Senior Well Engineer to join our team in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. This role is crucial for technically complex well designs and process implementation, ensuring the integrity and success of well operations from planning through execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of technically complex wells, including well proposals, Well Basis of Design, and Well Operation Programs.
• Supervise and mentor less senior Well Engineers, ensuring adherence to technical standards.
• Assure the technical integrity of all Well Operations planning and execution.
• Drive continuous improvement by analyzing lessons learned, producing timely End-of-Well reports, and integrating feedback into future operations.
• Oversee the creation and approval of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) and manage cost control for operations.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to ensure safe and environmentally sound operations.
• Forecast and plan medium and long-term needs to meet operational requirements.
• Coordinate daily morning meetings, anticipate operational changes, and revise plans accordingly.
• Evaluate operational results against goals and performance targets.
• Perform engineering studies to resolve recurring problems and identify equipment needs, including long lead items.
• Prepare equipment lists and identify critical long-lead items.
• Prepare engineering design and operational plans for well drilling, including well planning, casing design, material selection, log evaluation, quality assurance, and post-job evaluation.
• Provide engineering support for field operations and define rig selection criteria.
• Participate in tender bid preparation and customer presentations, potentially involving travel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another STEM field.
• 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in well services, with a proven ability to manage complex technical operations.
• Offshore experience is preferred.
• IWCF Well Control certification is required.
• Proficiency in Openwells for data management and monitoring.
• Familiarity with tools such as Wellcat, Wellplan, Casing Seat, Compass, Casing Wear, Stresscheck, and @Risk is desired.
• Well Supervisory experience and exposure to multi-discipline operations are preferred.
