VMware Licensed Support Engineer - Chennai, Tamil Nadu

RAKKIN BUSINESS IT SOLUTIONS is seeking a dedicated VMware Licensed Support Engineer to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is a full-time, in-person position focused on providing exceptional technical support for VMware vSphere environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

For all engineering roles, you will be responsible for:

• Providing 24x7x365 technical support for VMware vSphere environments.
• Managing patch management and security updates to ensure system integrity.
• Troubleshooting complex virtualization issues to minimize downtime.
• Proactively monitoring system health and performance to identify potential problems.
• Creating and managing support tickets efficiently.
• Responding to critical incidents within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframes.

Role-Specific Additional Responsibilities:

Team Lead / Senior Engineer:

• Leading team operations and defining strategic approaches.
• Managing escalations and overseeing critical issue resolution.
• Conducting thorough security assessments.
• Reviewing and ensuring SLA compliance across the team.
• Presenting executive reports on performance and status.
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers.

Senior Support Engineer:

• Handling complex technical escalations that require advanced expertise.
• Designing solutions for system optimization and efficiency.
• Conducting comprehensive system assessments.
• Supporting the team lead on critical issues and projects.

Key Requirements:

Mandatory (Non-Negotiable):

• Certifications:
• VCP on vSphere 8 (VMware Certified Professional) or VCP on vSphere 7 with a commitment to upgrade to vSphere 8. Proof of valid certificate or a commitment to pass by a specified date is required.
• CompTIA Security+ is required for at least one team member, demonstrating fundamental security knowledge and meeting client compliance requirements (Annexure-B).
• Experience:
• Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on VMware vSphere administration experience.
• Team Lead role requires 10+ years of experience.
• Senior Engineer role requires 5+ years of experience.
• Support Engineer role requires 2+ years of experience.
• Proven experience supporting production vSphere environments.
• Hands-on experience with vCenter administration, ESXi host management, virtual machine provisioning and management, and performance monitoring & optimization.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep knowledge of vSphere architecture.
• Proficiency in Linux/ESXi operating system.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, firewalls, and VLANs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with patch management.

Strongly Recommended:

• Certifications:
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCAP-DCV), especially for Team Lead & Senior Engineer roles.
• CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) to demonstrate networking expertise.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) for Linux system administration knowledge.
• Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications for cloud infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience:
• Experience with vSAN or NSX is considered a bonus.
• Familiarity with VMware vCenter automation/orchestration.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Zabbix, etc.
• Familiarity with incident management systems.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments (1000+ employees).

Salary: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
