BNY Mellon is seeking a Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join the TSG Discovery Services team in Chennai, TN, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting the platform and developing automation across the core infrastructure stack, including network, storage, compute, and databases. You will need a strong understanding of how software is built, configured, and deployed, with experience writing services, plugins, and agents. The application runs on BNY Mellon's App Engine, a platform as a service for scheduling and running containerized applications on virtual machines. Responsibilities include developing middleware and infrastructure tools and services to enable developers. Experience with mission-critical systems is essential.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Java Developer with working knowledge of Spring Boot, SDLC, and the System Development Lifecycle. A solid foundation in networking, load balancing, and DNS concepts is required. For front-end development, proficiency in Angular with a strong understanding of CSS/SCSS is necessary. You will be responsible for development throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing automation across the core infrastructure stack (network, storage, compute, database).
  • Understanding software build, configuration, and deployment processes using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Java.
  • Contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
  • Writing services, plugins, and agents.
  • Developing API/web-based applications and reporting for internal use.
  • Developing and maintaining internal/external API integrations.
  • Investigating and resolving production issues, performing root-cause analysis, and delivering resilient fixes.
  • Developing clear runbooks, documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Partnering with application teams to translate requirements into robust platform capabilities.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10-14 years of experience in software development.
  • Hands-on full-stack development experience (backend services/APIs and front-end components).
  • Proficiency in Java, Angular, and Python.
  • Knowledge of Spring Boot, SDLC, and System Development Lifecycle.
  • Solid foundation in networking, load balancing, and DNS concepts.
