UX Engineer

As a Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building the systems, tools, and workflows that empower the Design group to experiment with AI models and deliver production-quality AI experiences efficiently and with confidence. You will shape the workflow for numerous UX designers, directly impacting the design and delivery of AI experiences. This role sits at the intersection of AI, UX, and engineering, bringing cutting-edge autonomous systems to life. Collaborate within a highly skilled, cross-functional team in an ambitious, fast-paced environment, and contribute through hands-on development of complex UI components.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers in the AI ERP design studio to define requirements for tools and processes.
• Develop tools that streamline design workflows, including Figma integration and Visual Studio Code for efficient pull request creation optimized for design contributions.
• Create design-focused AI frameworks and evaluation toolkits.
• Empower designers by upskilling them on maximizing the value of AI chat and code generation tools.
• Provide up-to-date guidance on the capabilities and limitations of current AI models for design applications.
• Continuously enhance skills and stay current with AI developments to improve tool and product efficiency and confidence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field, plus 3+ years of experience in product/service design and/or shipping production code.
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field, plus 4+ years of experience in product/service design and/or shipping production code.
• OR equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of proven experience in designing and implementing user experiences for shipped products, demonstrating strong software and design skills in design patterns and scalable design systems.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering AI-powered products with a solid understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent systems (prompting, tool usage, memory, retries).
• Experience working in fast-moving product teams (consumer or enterprise) and delivering products through iterative development cycles.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven ability to enable other builders and designers through frameworks, tooling, or abstractions.
• Comfort and experience building tools or platforms that empower non-engineers in coding or experimentation.
• Strong collaboration skills with UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers.
• Experience with CI/CD, pull request workflows, and production code quality best practices.
