UX Designer I

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts and wireframes into prototypes that allow for evaluating and exploring different design and interaction approaches in Bengaluru-based projects.
• Design and deliver prototype experiences targeted at a wide range of devices, interfaces, and geospatial applications.
• Design for performance and scalability, including testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal application behavior.
• Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions tailored to diverse user needs.
• Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate designs within Agile environments.
• Create components for a company-wide design system and ensure both adoption and accurate execution of the language across teams in India and abroad.
• Implement motion design and micro-interactions, including transitions and animations to enhance user engagement.
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders on projects requiring deep technical understanding of front-end technologies.

Skills/Requirements

This role is open to candidates in Bengaluru who are passionate about resolving user pain points. You will be expected to:

• Possess two or more years of UI/front-end development rapid prototyping experience, with preference given to those designing complex solutions for end-to-end digital environments.
• Have a thorough understanding of UI design patterns and core knowledge of how Javascript works, including HTML DOM rendering and event models relevant to web applications in India.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of CSS (Box model) and related libraries such as SCSS, crucial for building responsive interfaces.
• Be experienced with modern web frameworks or libraries like Vue.js or React, commonly used in Bengaluru tech hubs.
• Show basic understanding of cross-platform development using technologies like React Native for iOS and Android ecosystems.
• Demonstrate experience writing extensive unit tests and familiarity with packages such as Jest, Chai, and Mocha to ensure code quality in collaborative teams.
• Understand Node.js environments, server-side rendering techniques, and web project bundlers like Webpack.
• Have hands-on experience with performance testing tools including Chrome developer tools and Lighthouse audits to optimize application speed for users across regions.
• Maintain knowledge of good practices when it comes to security standards applicable to international deployments.
• Be able to design, test, and optimize performance specifically for responsive and touch-friendly UIs used on mobile devices in India.
• Show awareness and ability to code for accessibility standards (WCAG) ensuring inclusive experiences for all users globally.
• Demonstrate competence with internationalization and localization best practices to support global clients served from Bengaluru locations.
• Apply skills in motion design, transitions, and animations to create engaging digital products.
• Show familiarity or experience with Agile/Scrum software development life cycles prevalent in the Indian tech sector.
• Maintain an online portfolio or showcase work samples demonstrating innovative solutions to user pain points using latest trends and technologies.
