UI/UX Designer

Join Banyan Software's Application Modernization team as a highly skilled and pragmatic UI/UX Designer in Bengaluru, India. This role is pivotal in transforming legacy enterprise applications into intuitive, accessible, and modern user experiences. You will tackle complex design challenges within existing system constraints, leveraging AI-assisted tools for rapid prototyping and iteration within our AI Application Modernization Factory.

Collaborate closely with our elite engineering teams, including Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) and Principal Engineers, to drive transitional UI/UX flows that facilitate incremental modernization while significantly enhancing usability and aesthetics. This is an opportunity to redefine the user experience of critical enterprise systems, not just design greenfield products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Redesign user interfaces of outdated legacy systems, applying modern usability and accessibility principles within technical constraints.
• Utilize AI design tools (e.g., Figma AI, DALL·E, Midjourney) for accelerated prototyping, wireframing, and visual exploration, integrating with our AI-assisted Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Develop transitional UX strategies and patterns for incremental modernization, prioritizing iterative value delivery.
• Create and maintain responsive, accessible, and scalable design systems to expedite modernization efforts.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to ensure design consistency, technical feasibility, and alignment with business objectives.
• Engage in rapid iteration cycles, incorporating user and stakeholder feedback to refine designs promptly.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• 5-8 years of progressive UI or UX design experience, with a strong preference for experience in modernization, transformation, or enterprise/SaaS environments.
• A robust portfolio showcasing before-and-after modernization projects or successful redesigns of complex, data-heavy B2B legacy systems.
• Expert proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design tools (Figma AI, DALL·E, ChatGPT, or similar) to improve design velocity.
• A solid understanding of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, NextJS) and comfort collaborating with developers.
• Deep knowledge of responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG), and usability testing methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills (A Plus):

• Experience in a B2B or enterprise SaaS setting.
• Familiarity with the complexities of large-scale application re-platforming.
• A pragmatic, problem-solving approach, especially in constrained environments.
• Exposure to modern development practices like Agile and DevSecOps.
