About the Role
As UI Lead, you will shape frontend engineering at SecPod by setting technical direction for our shared design system (@secpod/ui) while driving product interface quality across dashboards and applications. You'll operate at both platform and product levels to ensure scalability, accessibility (WCAG 2.2 AA), and performance.
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead frontend technical direction: Define architecture, maintainability standards, and engineering quality practices across the organization.
  • Owning @secpod/ui: Manage component strategy, design tokens, theming APIs, documentation, and long-term evolution of our shared foundation.
  • Elevate product UI quality by ensuring intuitive, responsive, accessible interfaces built to high standards with teams like yours.
  • Strengthen engineering practices including code review protocols, testing strategies (Vitest/Jest), CI/CD pipelines, bundle analysis, and accessibility audits using tools like axe and Playwright/Cypress.
  • Promote cross-team collaboration without relying on direct authority to drive adoption of shared standards.
  • Mentor frontend engineers to foster continuous improvement in technical judgment and craft.
Technical Skills Required
  • Core: React, TypeScript, Modern CSS (Modules/Scoped), Semantic HTML, Responsive design.
  • Accessibility: WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, ARIA implementation, Keyboard navigation management, Screen reader testing expertise.
  • Testing & Quality: Testing Library integration, E2E tools (Playwright/Cypress), Unit test frameworks (Vitest/Jest).
  • Architecture & Tooling: Design systems orchestration, Component API design, Vite/Webpack/esbuild bundlers, Monorepo management (pnpm/Turborepo/Nx), State management solutions.
Nice-to-Have
  • Framer Motion or animation libraries for modern UI effects.
  • Data visualization experience for complex dashboards.
  • Security, infrastructure, compliance domain knowledge relevant to SaaS products.
  • Collaborative design workflow using Figma and Design Systems platforms.
