About the Role:

This role is designed for individuals eager to learn the intricacies of digital map creation and maintenance using HERE's specialized spatial tools. You will gain hands-on experience in applying navigation attributes and understanding map data through guided practice. The position also introduces foundational data engineering tasks, including data cleaning, deduplication, and formatting. As your map expertise grows, you will contribute to AI/ML initiatives by assisting with data annotation and model training. Opportunities to support simple software tools and proof-of-concept applications for internal process improvement are also included.

Key Responsibilities:

• Master HERE’s Spatial Toolsets: Under supervision, learn to apply basic navigation attributes such as names, addresses, speed categories, functional classes, intersections, and restricted maneuvers.
• Develop Map Attribution Skills: Gain domain knowledge through mentored work on real map features, enhancing accuracy and consistency.
• Adhere to Database & Quality Standards: Understand and apply mapping specifications and quality expectations, with regular feedback for compliance.
• Support Data Preparation: Assist with data cleaning, deduplication, filtering, balancing, and formatting, while learning data engineering concepts.
• Contribute to AI/ML Activities: Post-core training, engage in annotation tasks, training data preparation, and basic model training under supervision.
• Assist in Basic Software/Application Support: Collaborate with senior team members to build or maintain simple tools and proof-of-concept applications for automation.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, AI/DS, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Learning Aptitude: Possess a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and a genuine interest in IT applications and systems.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptability: Eagerness to learn new technologies.
• Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment, demonstrating self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Foundational knowledge in a programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C), libraries/frameworks (e.g., React.JS, Node.js), databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), developer tools, and Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Basic understanding or relevant certification in Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence concepts is a plus.

Note: This is a one-year contract role on the company's payroll. It does not guarantee full-time employment upon completion.
