Full Job Description
This role is crucial for ensuring proactive system management through the commissioning of network devices and the effective management of Network Management & System Tools.
Your responsibilities will include liaising with various teams such as Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Front Office teams to successfully complete migration tasks. You will be responsible for commissioning devices by applying appropriate management configurations. A key aspect of this role involves implementing bulk configurations using automation tools like IONIX. You will collaborate with technical designers, customer engineers, and field engineers to resolve technical issues. Auditing network data and device behavior across different Network Management Systems (NMS) used within projects is also a primary duty. Ensuring correct inventory mapping against migrated devices and verifying that expected events and traps are generated for proactive monitoring are essential. You will investigate deviations from processes and generate Root Cause Analyses (RCA). Unresolved matters will be escalated to the ASG and other stakeholders in a timely manner. Continuous improvement efforts will focus on enhancing Right First Time (RFT) and Right Time (RT) metrics to align with project timelines. You will handle internal and external customer queries, resolving issues promptly, and take ownership of regular audits on systems and tools.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in networking technologies.
- CCNA certification.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with NMS tools such as Ionix, Voyence, Smarts, NMS, Sevone, Netbrain, or Entuity, ideally with scripting language knowledge.
- Experience with SDWAN, ACI, or DNA-C.
- Prior experience in projects involving device commissioning and migrations.
- Proven experience in implementing and configuring bulk devices using automation tools.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience managing Cisco routers and switches on systems and tools.
- Experience with network management configurations including routing protocols, SNMP, Tacacs, Logging, and NTP.
- Familiarity with WAN technologies like ADSL and MPLS.
- Experience with surveillance, configuration, and performance management tools such as Smarts, NCM, or Sevone is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with UNIX or Perl scripting is a plus.
- Knowledge of setting up CRON jobs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic/advanced), including formulas and VLOOKUP.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework.
