Testing Insurance Functional

Join EY's Global Delivery Services as a QE-Insurance Functional professional specializing in Life and Annuities (L&A). You will be part of a technology organization focused on developing and maintaining innovative L&A solutions, leveraging COTS platforms to enhance testing approaches and improve customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong academic background (B.E/B.tech/MCA/M.Sc or equivalent IT degree) and relevant QA accreditation (e.g., ISTQB Foundation, LOMA). With 2-6 years of experience in L&A and Property & Casualty functional testing, you should possess in-depth knowledge of various Annuities LOBs (Index-linked, fixed and variable, fixed indexed, income annuities) and Life LOBs (Term Life, permanent Life including universal life, indexed universal life, whole life, and variable universal life). Expertise in Life and Annuities industry COTS technology platforms and domain knowledge across the End-to-End functional value-chain (Illustration, New Business, policy and claims administration, downstream applications) are essential. While experience in P&C administration platforms is a plus, proficiency in test management tools like JIRA, ALM, Zephyr, Xray, and Confluence is mandatory. Good-to-have skills include experience with Selenium/Java-based automation frameworks, API testing, ETL/Data testing, and familiarity with DevOps in the cloud. Strong communication skills are vital. Responsibilities include developing test strategies, test plans, test cases, managing test data, and executing various testing types (in-sprint, SIT, E2E, Regression, Smoke). You will also support UAT, coordinate testing delivery, contribute to IT projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies, create high-quality work products, act as a subject matter expert, and demonstrate functional value-adds with point solutions and accelerators. Direct client interaction with SMEs, BAs, and stakeholders is expected. Basic automation test design and execution, familiarity with code reviews, design patterns, and best practices in functional testing, along with a structured problem-solving approach and self-starter attitude, are key. This is a permanent position based in Kolkata, India.
