Test Team Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking a Test Team Lead (QA & Automation) for our web applications. This hybrid role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on testing expertise in functional, automation, and performance domains.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Guide and coach the QA team by planning sprint work, assigning tasks, tracking progress, removing blockers, and providing constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
• Quality Ownership: Own end-to-end quality for assigned modules from requirements definition through release. Provide data-backed insights on go/no-go decisions for releases.
• Test Strategy: Develop practical test strategies that prioritize testing based on risk and business impact, defining what to automate versus manual execution.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate regular communication with product owners, developers, and stakeholders regarding planning, status updates, and release readiness. Escalate critical issues early.
• Bug Management: Prioritize defects by severity, ensure rapid resolution of critical bugs, and conduct root-cause analysis on escaped defects to improve process gaps.

  Data & AI Integration

• KPI Tracking: Define and monitor key performance indicators including defect leakage rates, automation coverage, requirement-to-test alignment, flaky test frequency, and bug fix turnaround times.
• Leverage AI Tools: Utilize advanced AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) to enhance efficiency in drafting/reviewing test cases, generating synthetic data, identifying coverage gaps, summarizing bugs, and validating results. Lead the team in maintaining a critical eye on all AI-generated outputs.



Technical Proficiency

• Hands-On Testing: Execute functional, regression, exploratory, API (Postman), and performance (JMeter) testing while building automation frameworks using Playwright or equivalent tools.
• AI Feature Validation: Specifically test AI-driven features such as chatbots for relevance, tone appropriateness, and handling of edge cases/out-of-scope queries.
  

  Mandatory Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in automation testing with at least 1 year leading a QA team.
• Tech Stack: Proficiency with Jira, Playwright (or similar).
