The Centre de services scolaire des Mille-Îles (CSSMI) is actively seeking a skilled School Transportation Technician (Technicien ou technicienne en transport scolaire) to join our vibrant team in Saint-Eustache, Quebec, Canada. In this role, you will work within a stimulating and collaborative environment, providing essential support to transportation managers. Your primary responsibilities will involve the strategic development of bus routes, meticulous programming of transportation schedules, and ensuring strict adherence to all relevant contracts and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing bus routes based on student data, school schedules, and operational constraints.
• Mapping and updating routes using cartographic tools.
• Programming transportation schedules by gathering and analyzing pertinent data.
• Preparing or contributing to the development of contracts and tenders related to school transportation.
• Participating in the creation and enforcement of regulations for transportation, carriers, drivers, and students.
• Assisting in the preparation of budgetary forecasts.
• Acting as a liaison between school administrations and transportation providers, managing communications and providing customer service.
• Monitoring carrier compliance and maintaining accurate records.
• Analyzing complaints or accidents and recommending necessary corrective actions.
• Overseeing operational aspects such as onboard discipline, passes, parking, and special transportation needs.
• Utilizing transportation-related software and assisting staff as required.
• Supporting transportation managers by coordinating technical operations and mentoring less experienced personnel.
