Technical Lead

Responsibilities:

• Lead the achievement of team objectives, contributing to the formulation of goals and technical strategies across multiple internal teams or with external partners.
• Take full ownership of the design, architecture, development, quality assurance, and production deployment of systems that have a significant and lasting impact on the broader group.
• Develop and implement resilient, scalable backend solutions that effectively address both technical complexities and business needs.
• Function as a collaborative leader within the team, working closely with cross-functional departments including Product, Design/UX, DevOps, and other R&D teams to foster synergy and maintain alignment.
• Effectively manage trade-offs when tackling new and challenging problems, carefully considering both technical and business ramifications.
• Represent the team in design review sessions, provide approval for critical designs, and actively contribute to architectural decisions at the group level.
• Proactively identify and address challenges affecting the entire group, establishing a clear direction for scalable and innovative solutions that can be developed into new projects.
• Share responsibility for upholding group quality and delivery standards, while actively contributing to the mentorship and professional development of the group's engineers.
• Engage in mentoring and onboarding new engineers, and participate in the hiring process.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in backend software engineering, including demonstrated experience in technical leadership and cross-team strategy development.
• Expert proficiency in C# is mandatory.
• Advanced SQL skills and substantial experience with database management systems.
• Practical experience working with message queues or streaming platforms such as RabbitMQ, SQS, or Kafka.
• Familiarity with non-relational databases, for example, MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Deep understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Proficiency in microservices architecture and the development of scalable systems.
• A proven track record of solving novel and complex problems, particularly those requiring innovative architectural approaches.
• Experience in influencing other teams, collaborating on cross-group initiatives, and mentoring engineers.
• A Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field.

Desirable Skills (Not Required but Advantageous):

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
