Role Overview

D.E. Shaw is looking for a Tech Lead (SDET) for the Quality and Test Engineering group based in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram. The QTE team manages quality mandates with deep integration into software development, focusing on functional correctness, scalability, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation tools and frameworks to test complex projects while mentoring a small group of engineers.
• Collaborate closely with business domains from a testing perspective.
• Invalidate critical systems such as trading platforms, risk engines, and core infrastructure services.
• Focus on productivity through automation by developing end-to-end functional scenarios.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous quality signals rather than gated releases. Champion shift-left testing strategies.
• Partner with developers on testability-by-design, influencing interfaces and instrumentation during system construction.
• Demonstrate leadership in designing automated test frameworks that other engineers adopt as reusable tools.
