Full Job Description

Mavic.ai is seeking a **Tech Lead (Full Stack Engineer)** to lead a remote-first team in building and optimizing our AI-powered brand marketing platform. This role reports to Martijn Moret, CTO, and requires hands-on leadership in designing, implementing, and debugging full-stack applications (TypeScript, React, MongoDB) while collaborating with AI/ML models and microservices architectures. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Leading a distributed team to architect, develop, and maintain production-grade back-end and front-end systems for both end-users and internal tools.
  2. Optimizing team workflows with AI coding tools and custom QA processes to accelerate development.
  3. Organizing work packages, estimating effort, and prioritizing features for business impact.
  4. Ensuring robust documentation of code, decisions, and technical trade-offs for long-term maintainability.
  5. Debugging complex issues—from logs to root causes—with a focus on system-level thinking.
  6. Collaborating closely with the CTO to align technical vision with business goals.
Must-Haves:
  • 4+ years of full-time experience shipping production-grade TypeScript/React/MongoDB applications.
  • Proven expertise with AI/ML APIs (OpenAI, LangChain, HuggingFace) and LLM integration.
  • Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, and GraphQL.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, persistence models, and async/sync trade-offs.
  • Proficient in AI-assisted coding and debugging to avoid technical debt.
  • Fluent English communication (speaking/writing) for cross-functional collaboration.
Bonus Points:
  • Experience with distributed, remote-first teams across time zones.
  • End-to-end DevOps expertise (MERN stack + GCP).
  • UI/UX design sensibilities to enhance user experience.
  • Technical documentation skills (AI-generated docs must be production-ready).
  • Startup experience in AI/tech innovation.
