Tech Lead

BLive is seeking a dynamic AVP - Engineering to spearhead the technology development and delivery of its global SaaS Mobility platform. This comprehensive platform integrates EV fleet management, charging infrastructure, driver operations, and carbon management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader proficient in architecture, coding, and agile delivery across cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include defining the technical roadmap, guiding system design, ensuring platform performance and security, and scaling the solution internationally. This role requires extensive experience in building and scaling multi-tenant SaaS platforms, with a strong understanding of microservices, API-first architecture, and cloud infrastructure (AWS). The AVP will also drive the adoption of AI/ML for predictive analytics and operational efficiency, manage data pipelines, and foster a culture of innovation and accountability within the engineering team. Prior experience in the EV mobility, fleet tech, logistics, or IoT sectors is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end engineering strategy, roadmap, and execution for the BLive Mobility platform.
• Architect and develop a scalable, modular, multi-tenant SaaS platform covering Fleet, Charging, Driver, and Carbon modules.
• Collaborate with product management to translate roadmaps into actionable engineering plans.
• Ensure high platform reliability and uptime through continuous delivery and code quality best practices.
• Manage system scalability, availability, and cost optimization on AWS.
• Contribute to architecture, conduct code reviews, and perform critical development tasks.
• Define and enforce technical standards, coding best practices, and architecture frameworks.
• Lead the design of a microservices-based, API-first architecture with robust data interoperability.
• Oversee data integrations with external systems including ERP, OEM telematics, and CIAM.
• Partner with DevOps to establish secure, automated, and observable cloud infrastructure (CI/CD, monitoring, IaC).
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team (backend, frontend, QA, DevOps).
• Cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on accountability, ownership, and innovation.
• Conduct regular technical design and database schema reviews.
• Align with Product and Business teams for effective sprint planning and delivery.
• Manage vendor and partner technology integrations for expedited delivery.
• Drive AI/ML initiatives for predictive analytics, route optimization, and carbon insights.
• Establish real-time event-driven data pipelines using Kafka, SQS, etc.
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies to enhance mobility intelligence.
• Make strategic build vs. buy decisions and manage vendor relationships.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software development, architecture, and engineering leadership.
• Deep expertise in Node.js/NestJS, microservices, and AWS Cloud Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS), containerization, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Ansible).
• Strong understanding of event-driven systems (Kafka, SQS, SNS) and cloud observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Proficiency in security, compliance, and performance tuning for scalable systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Prior experience in EV mobility, Fleet tech, logistics, or IoT platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integrations, telematics data, or carbon footprint analytics.
