Position: Tech Lead

Location: Ahmedabad, India (Monday - Saturday)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Full Stack Engineer to serve as the first senior hire in our internal technology team. You will directly lead the development of our web and mobile products, manage the transition from outsourced partners to an in-house team by hiring and mentoring engineers, and establish engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Tech Roadmap Ownership: Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions tailored for the Indian market context.
• Hands-on Development: Architect and build features across a modern full-stack technology stack, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Guide junior engineers, define coding standards, conduct rigorous code reviews, and foster a culture of best practices within Ahmedabad-based teams or distributed setups.
• Transition Management: Collaborate with external agencies to successfully migrate legacy codebases and knowledge into our internal infrastructure.
• Cloud & DevOps: Oversee CI/CD pipelines, manage deployments on cloud platforms like AWS or Vercel, and maintain basic cloud infrastructure security.
• Product Mindset: Work closely with product managers and designers to deliver delightful user experiences that impact children's learning outcomes globally.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with deep proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies.
• Expertise in a robust full-stack technology stack (e.g., React, Node.js, Python, etc.).
• Strong command of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Flutter or other cross-platform mobile frameworks to build native-like experiences for Android and iOS users.
• Working knowledge of cloud hosting (AWS) and DevOps tools like Vercel.
• Demonstrated experience leading small teams, mentoring engineers, and establishing engineering best practices in India or remote environments.
• Nice to Have:

• Experience scaling consumer apps or marketplace platforms.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures or serverless solutions.
• Knowledge of analytics, performance monitoring (APM), and security best practices.
