Team Lead / Senior AI Engineer – AI Studio

Guidehouse's AI Studio in Chennai, Tamil Nadu is looking for a dynamic Team Lead / Senior AI Engineer to spearhead the hands-on delivery of AI use-cases, from initial prototyping to robust production deployment. This role demands a blend of technical leadership and active development, ensuring rapid execution, high-quality code, and reliable deployments, all while collaborating closely with the AI Solution Architect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the end-to-end engineering delivery of individual AI use-cases.
• Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 engineers, assigning tasks and ensuring delivery ownership.
• Contribute to development across front-end, back-end, and AI integration layers.
• Translate architectural designs into detailed engineering tasks and sprint plans.
• Conduct code reviews, approve pull requests, and enforce coding standards.
• Partner with the AI Solution Architect on design fidelity and execution strategies.
• Develop Generative AI components, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, APIs, and agent workflows.
• Build front-end interfaces using React, Angular, or Vue.js, and backend services using Python or Java.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across development, UAT, and production environments.
• Implement and optimize logging, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Drive rapid prototyping and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) delivery timelines.
• Consult with the AI Solution Architect on security, privacy, compliance, timelines, complexities, and technical issue resolution.

Required Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of software engineering experience with a focus on AI/GenAI.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams in fast-paced, agile delivery environments.
• Strong proficiency in front-end development (React, Angular, or Vue.js) and backend development (Python or Java) with API and microservices experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with major cloud AI platforms such as Azure AI, AWS AI, or Google Vertex AI.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and automated deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and scalable deployment.
• Solid understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and pull request workflows.
• Ability to break down complex problems into actionable engineering tasks.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of enterprise-level security and data privacy best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in rapid prototyping and MVP-driven development.
• Exposure to multi-agent systems or advanced Generative AI architectures.
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval optimization techniques.
• Experience with Generative AI evaluation frameworks.
• Experience working with global teams and stakeholders.
