Systems Operation Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Systems Operation Engineer in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India. This role involves participating in complex technical initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases, and other technical products and services. You will identify opportunities for process improvements within technical support strategies, analyze technical queries to extract data and fine-tune systems, and present recommendations for resolving complex technical issues. Independent judgment will be exercised to analyze performance trends and recommend process improvements, while developing an understanding of technical process controls and standards. You will also act as an internal consultant regarding tool and process usage and provide information about supported systems to colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in complex technical issues and initiatives for large-scale applications, systems, databases, and technical products.
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements within technical support strategies.
• Analyze technical queries to extract data, build databases, or perform limited programming to optimize systems for low to medium risk deliverables.
• Present recommendations for resolving complex technical queries.
• Utilize independent judgment to analyze performance trends and suggest process improvements, while gaining knowledge of technical process controls and standards.
• Serve as an internal consultant on tool and process utilization.
• Communicate information about supported systems to functional colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, and customers.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.

Desired Qualifications:

• Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) / Tanzu Application Service (TAS): Experience as a PCF Engineer, collaborating with development teams on application deployment, managing certificate rotation, monitoring and optimizing PCF performance, implementing security best practices, troubleshooting PCF infrastructure, planning platform upgrades with automation, and deploying/managing/scaling applications on PCF. Skills include a basic understanding of VMware (ESXI host, storage), familiarity with containerization and microservices, knowledge of PCF services (buildpacks, routes), experience with BOSH, and proficiency in PCF architecture.
• Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated (TKGI) (formerly PKS): Experience as a Kubernetes Engineer, integrating TKGI with other tools, troubleshooting Kubernetes issues, managing TKGI network configuration, configuring Kubernetes networking/security/storage, and deploying/managing Kubernetes clusters using TKGI. Skills include a basic understanding of VMware (ESXI host, storage), familiarity with container orchestration best practices, knowledge of Kubernetes ecosystem tools (Helm, Istio), experience with TKGI/PKS installation/administration, and proficiency in Kubernetes architecture.
• Terraform / Concourse CI/CD/ Monitoring: Experience setting up and maintaining Concourse pipelines for CI/CD, knowledge of Git, Docker, and other CI/CD tools, strong scripting and automation skills, ability to write and maintain Terraform scripts for provisioning cloud resources, implementing infrastructure automation best practices, and knowledge of time-series databases, alerting rules, and Grafana integration.
• Public Cloud (Azure and GCP): Experience as a Cloud Engineer, designing, deploying, and managing cloud resources on Azure and GCP. Responsibilities include managing network and storage, implementing security controls, monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure, collaborating with development teams on cloud-native applications, and managing microservices in AKS with service integration. Skills include proficiency in Azure and GCP services, experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM templates), knowledge of networking/identity management/storage, familiarity with serverless computing and Kubernetes on Azure/GCP, and experience setting up/managing image registries and collaborating on image deployment.
