Full Job Description
Join a dynamic team driving the Green Energy transition as a Systems Engineer specializing in System Design for HVDC installations. In this role, you will interpret customer technical inquiries to engineer cost-effective, high-performance solutions utilizing PES power electronics. Your responsibilities will include specifying key high-value bought-out equipment and contributing to the development and industrialization of solution tools and processes.
We are seeking candidates with proven professional experience and technical expertise in power system engineering, specifically in the following key technical areas:
- High Voltage Equipment
- Transformers
- Switchgear
- Measurement Devices
- Power Reactors
- High Voltage Equipment Testing (Witnessing)
- Insulation Co-ordination and Basic Insulation Co-ordination Studies
- Surge Arresters
Additionally, beneficial skills include:
- Power System System Design for HVDC
- Main Scheme Design for HVDC Converters
- Single Line Diagram creation
- Performance and Station Losses Calculations
Your main responsibilities will encompass performing studies and delivering reports, producing specifications for HV equipment, witnessing equipment testing, and providing technical leadership and guidance to peers. You will also have customer-facing responsibilities, contribute to the development and industrialization of engineering processes and design guides, and actively participate in new HVDC technology developments. Engaging in external activities like publishing technical papers or participating in working groups (CIGRE/IEC/IEEE) is encouraged. Adherence to company policies, Code of Conduct, and a strong focus on Health and Safety are paramount.
We are looking for individuals with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering) or a Master's in Power Systems. A PhD in Power Systems is a plus. A minimum of two to three years of experience in industrial engineering roles is required. Proficiency in EXCEL and PYTHON is necessary.
Ideal candidates possess strong personal skills, including the ability to work to deadlines with high quality, a sense of urgency, technical leadership, excellent communication, and reporting skills. A structured approach to knowledge sharing, a self-motivating, proactive, and results-driven attitude, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to be a team player while also working independently are essential.
