Join Palo Alto Networks as a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer in Mumbai, India, and play a crucial role in our technical sales team. You will be instrumental in identifying complex security challenges within enterprise customer networks and delivering solutions using our leading security products and services.
As the technical representative, your focus will be on ensuring customer satisfaction. Collaborating with your sales partner, you will own the customer relationship, aiming to help them detect and prevent advanced cyberattacks and breaches. By deploying the Palo Alto Networks platform, you'll empower them to confidently pursue their network, cloud, and mobile technology initiatives.

- Master and effectively present our cutting-edge security platform and comprehensive solutions.
- Engage closely with enterprise customers across West India, understanding their unique security needs.
- Develop and deliver compelling demonstrations showcasing the power of Palo Alto Networks products and solutions.
- Educate customers and partners on the evolving landscape of modern network security.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities, providing essential technical pre-sales support to drive opportunities to closure.
- Expand the Palo Alto Networks footprint within existing enterprise accounts.
- Collaborate with and enable channel partners, thriving in a partner-driven sales ecosystem.
- Create detailed evaluation test plans with customers and guide them through a successful product evaluation process.
- Clearly articulate the advantages of Palo Alto Networks technologies over competing solutions.
- Provide expert assistance to customers navigating the support escalation process.
- Commit to continuous self-improvement, maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and actively participating in relevant technical communities.
- Proactively identify and address issues within customer environments, effectively engaging both field and management technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong capabilities in customer-facing interactions, including excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and creative problem-solving.
Qualifications for this Role
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6 years in a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Solution Consultant, Sales Engineer, or Systems Integrator role.
- Proven techno-commercial pre-sales experience with solutions encompassing Network Security (NGFW, IPS/IDS, WAF, DNS security), Cloud Security (CNAP, CWPP, WAAS), and SecOps (EDR/XDR, SOAR, SIEM, Threat Management, SOC).
- Pre-sales experience specifically with Enterprise customers in India is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in systems installation, configuration, and administration of network devices (routers/switches) and operating systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows). Prior experience with Active Directory/LDAP is advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of L2-L4 Networking, including L2 Switching architectures (Spanning Tree), IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and L4 Load-balancing.
- Strong knowledge of current security and network product trends and technologies.
- Experience selling, demonstrating, installing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure security products.
- Willingness for extensive domestic travel within the territory and potential international travel.
- Experience selling network infrastructure security appliances such as Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, and Security Proxies.
- Practical experience with routing and switching products commonly deployed alongside security appliances.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to systematically resolve complex, multivariate problems.
