Full Job Description
Join Catchpoint's Operations team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, as a Systems Engineer I. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest possible uptime for our global infrastructure, customer-facing services, and internal networks.
As a Systems Engineer I, you will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving issues related to applications, servers, networks, and infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring the continuous availability and performance of Catchpoint's Global Infrastructure across various third-party data centers and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Catchpoint's node infrastructure and troubleshoot Linux server issues in diverse environments.
- Perform OS and application upgrades, as well as server migrations.
- Manage incident intake, classification, and initial troubleshooting efforts according to defined SLAs and OLAs.
- Track the lifecycle of incidents from registration to closure, ensuring timely resolution and accurate ticket updates.
- Escalate incidents to L2 engineers or management when thresholds are breached, always with SLAs and OLAs in mind.
- Drive operational aspects of incident management to meet time, quality, and customer satisfaction targets for our global infrastructure.
- Collaborate effectively with Operations Managers, Technical Services teams, internal partners, and external customers.
- Maintain excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong emphasis on client interaction.

Success in this position means actively contributing to the uptime and availability of Catchpoint's Global Infrastructure. You will lead efforts in monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving complex infrastructure problems, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science & Networking (2024/2025 graduates welcome).
- 0-6 months of relevant experience.
- Linux certification is preferred.
- Basic troubleshooting proficiency in Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) and network diagnostics (ping, traceroute).
- Fundamental understanding of Bash/Shell Scripting and web servers.
- Solid grasp of large-scale networking concepts, including the OSI Model, DNS, SSL/TLS, WINS, TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, Routing, ACLs, and switching.
- Linux virtualization knowledge (KVM) is a plus.
- Willingness to work in 24x5 rotational shifts.
