Systems Engineer Delta V Upgrade

Emerson is seeking a skilled Automation engineering professional for an exciting role within our Lifecycle Services Group. As a DCS System Engineer in Pune, you will play an integral part in our project engineering team, focusing on the evaluation, testing, and implementation of DeltaV Upgrade projects for Process Systems and Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze functional requirements for DeltaV Upgrade Projects.
• Assess existing system architecture and its impact on newer DeltaV versions.
• Proactively identify and communicate project issues and risks to the lead/sub-lead engineer.
• Take full ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as required.
• Demonstrate willingness to travel for project assignments.
• Implement and adhere to quality processes and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• In-depth understanding of DeltaV Upgrade domain, including DeltaV System hardware, software, and system virtualization.
• Experience in analyzing system architecture and its implications for DeltaV upgrades.
• Proficiency in project engineering, scope verification, product configuration, and design solutions.
• Understanding of system design and implementation plans for FAT and commissioning of DeltaV Upgrade projects.
• Hands-on experience with DeltaV System installation, virtualization, networking, and DeltaV add-on applications.
• Knowledge of DeltaV Historians (Continuous, Enterprise, and Advanced levels).
• Experience setting up DeltaV systems (in Domain, workgroup, or virtualization environments).
• Ability to prepare test plans and project documentation.
• Experience conducting FAT, SAT, and site commissioning.
• Proven ability to work independently onsite under stringent schedules.
• Skills in onsite troubleshooting of DeltaV network issues.
• Experience interfacing OPC or third-party applications with DeltaV applications is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of reporting packages (e.g., SyTech, DeltaV Reporter, Matrikon OPC) is a plus.
• Experience with Cybersecurity aspects of DeltaV Systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
• DeltaV Live experience is preferred.
• Must have experience with DeltaV related hardware systems.
• Ability to provide functional guidance to product/application developers.
• Knowledge of VB script or any programming language is preferred.
• Basic understanding of the DeltaV Security Manual.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Proficient English language skills (verbal and written); knowledge of a foreign language is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Approximately 4-5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and commissioning of DeltaV projects.
