Systems Engineer - Edge & Infrastructure

Wobot AI is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in edge or infrastructure roles. This position requires a deep understanding of Linux, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN), and proficiency in device performance testing, including running benchmarks and troubleshooting complex issues. The ideal candidate will be adept at documenting results clearly and possess basic scripting skills in Shell or Python, along with familiarity with monitoring tools, which are considered a plus.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain edge devices in diverse environments, ensuring optimal performance and operational readiness.
• Design and execute comprehensive benchmark suites for edge devices, covering CPU/GPU/NPU, memory, storage, and sustained load performance.
• Analyze and compare device performance and configurations, producing detailed benchmark reports with actionable recommendations for device selection and optimal settings.
• Develop repeatable test checklists and implement simple automation to ensure consistency in testing results across various locations.
• Perform routine system upgrades, firmware updates, and maintenance to enhance system security and functionality.
• Conduct thorough system and network troubleshooting to identify and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 13 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, edge computing, or infrastructure management.
• A strong grasp of how device performance is measured, validated, and optimized in real-world scenarios.
• Comfort and experience in conducting structured tests, analyzing performance data, and meticulously documenting findings.
• Proficiency in Linux-based systems administration and a solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and VPN technologies.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities, a keen attention to detail, and the capacity to clearly document technical processes and outcomes.
• Basic scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Python) are highly desirable.
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana) is a significant advantage.
