Full Job Description
PHINIA is seeking an enthusiastic Validation Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join our growing Validation team in Bengaluru / Bangalore, India. This role will support Global and India programs, offering an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge of system validation techniques and tools. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and performance of our innovative automotive solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand Functional and Design Requirements to develop comprehensive Test Cases for System, Integration, and Functional testing, adhering to the V-model.
- Perform software calibration for effective testing and optimize powertrain parameters for drivability, fuel economy, and emissions.
- Conduct manual and automated functional testing on simulator benches.
- Utilize Python frameworks for test automation (an added advantage).
- Manage test reporting, defect tracking, and provide supportive functions.
- Debug embedded software on target hardware using test benches and in-circuit emulators.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of Engine and Vehicle calibrations is essential.
- Extensive experience with Engine Management Systems and strategies is required.
- Good understanding of Vehicle testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in C language and MATLAB Simulink Models.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and J1939.
- Knowledge of test methods and test management best practices.
- Experience with UDS, CAPL scripting, and Python Scripting.
- Understanding of automotive standards like ASPICE and ISO 26262 is required.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Polarion and Jira.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment frameworks, including HIL simulators (PXI / dSPACE / Opal RT / Vector VT systems), is a significant advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills and high intercultural social competence are necessary for effective collaboration with globally distributed teams.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and function effectively as a team player.
