SYSTEMS ANALYST II

Role Overview

The Health and Hospital Systems organization at Cook County Government seeks a motivated Systems Analyst II (Desktop). This role provides critical hardware and software support for desktops, Wyse terminals, laptops, printers, and related technology within a demanding healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily IT Desktop support for all devices including Windows-based systems, Microsoft Office applications, networking equipment, and wireless connectivity solutions.
• Install software packages such as operating systems, networking components, and office applications efficiently.
• Troubleshoot issues across existing and future Windows operating system platforms to ensure uptime and user productivity.
• Deliver responsive Helpdesk support by monitoring the ticketing system and resolving tickets in a timely manner.
• Maintain clear communication with managers and users regarding update status, escalations, and completion via voice mail, email, or face-to-face interaction.
• Perform complete computer rebuilds, reformatting, and reimaging as required by departmental standards.
• Leverage systems and tools for accurate documentation, tracking, and adherence to continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

To qualify, you must hold a High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years of experience OR an Associate's Degree with 1 year of experience in resolving end-user hardware/software issues. Essential knowledge includes:

• Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems (including legacy platforms like Windows 7).
• Detailed understanding of computer technology, workstation configuration, installation procedures, and networking essentials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as MSCE or A+ are advantageous but not required.
• Prior desktop support experience specifically within a healthcare environment is highly valued.
