As a System Protection Engineer III/Senior, you will be instrumental in the design, specification, and implementation of protection schemes for our transmission system and substations. This role involves complex engineering design, analytical support for diverse projects, and ensuring the integrity of our power grid. Key responsibilities include developing and revising relay settings, maintaining a precise short-circuit model of the APS transmission and sub-transmission network, and ensuring all relay settings documentation is current. You will also lead initiatives to enhance existing protection systems, conduct periodic reviews of relay settings for optimal coordination and protection, and provide crucial support to field and operations personnel during testing, commissioning, and system events. A critical aspect of this role involves analyzing protection system operations, participating in root cause analysis for mis-operations, and contributing to NERC Compliance efforts, particularly for PRC and CIP standards. You will also manage the specification, design, setting, and record-keeping for Digital Fault Recorders across the APS network.
