System Integration Engineer - Bengaluru
Applied Materials is seeking a talented System Integration Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be instrumental in integrating complex, multi-disciplinary systems, working hands-on with cutting-edge technology. Our group is responsible for the system integration of all Applied Materials Metrology and Inspection tools before customer shipment, as well as leading R&D prototypes and new product introductions. You will gain extensive exposure to advanced technologies including precise mechanics, electronics, motion, and optics.
As a System Integration Engineer, you will receive a fully assembled tool and be responsible for its calibration and end-to-end testing within a cleanroom environment. This includes complicated troubleshooting, investigation, and proposing engineering solutions. The role demands a high level of system understanding and deep engineering knowledge, as you'll work with multi-disciplinary systems involving modules such as E-Beam, high-end optics, lasers, precise mechanics, RF, motion, and control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to meet system specification team KPIs, including on-time delivery, operational aspects of tool integration, and lab tool fleet performance.
- Perform highly complex operational and functional tests, calibrations, and verification of sub-assemblies and systems.
- Troubleshoot modules and integrate complete systems; perform in-house customer acceptance tests.
- Travel to the Applied Materials - PDC Israel site to install and support tools (10-30% travel).
- Follow and complete documentation procedures for semiconductor manufacturing equipment; pursue and develop procedural, safety, and process improvements.
- Identify and resolve problems individually or as part of a team.
- Work 5 days/week from the Bangalore office, with Fridays and Saturdays being mandatory.
- Early morning shifts: 6 AM - 3 PM.
Qualifications:
- B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 2-4 years of relevant technical experience; experience in system integration or other high-complexity technical backgrounds is a strong advantage.
- Team player with a highly creative and proactive approach.
