About the Role
The System Engineer – Marine Automation and Control plays a crucial role in the technical execution of Marine, Oil & Gas, and Power projects, with a specialized focus on Marine Automation Solutions. This position acts as a vital technical liaison, fostering seamless communication between customers, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure project success.
Accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards, the System Engineer also actively supports business verticals during the Order-to-Remittance (OTR) process. This involves contributing to and reviewing system solutions, ensuring they are technically sound, fit for purpose, and align with project requirements. The role also encompasses identifying, assessing, and managing technical risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer contracts and prepare technical specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Perform basic and detailed engineering for marine automation systems, including HMI, controllers, and associated systems.
- Prepare and review technical documentation in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation plans for successful project delivery.
- Review developed solutions and identify opportunities for process, system, and equipment improvements.
- Ensure strict adherence to all company and customer Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Propose and implement process, tool, system solution, and technology improvements in alignment with leadership.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with other GE business entities to maximize synergies.
- Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology, Project Management, and Supply Chain teams to support project execution and business needs.
- Coordinate with other GE businesses, platform verticals, subcontractors, suppliers, and supply chain partners.
- Promote a lean mindset to deliver optimum and efficient technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable company and customer health and safety regulations.
- Support successful project delivery with a focus on time, quality, and budget.

Qualifications
This role requires foundational experience in Engineering/Technology & Systems Engineering. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, coupled with 1-3 years of relevant experience, is equivalent to the required knowledge level.
