System Administrator Role at Fort Technologies

Fort Technologies is seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth. We are looking for a proactive individual who can manage and maintain our IT infrastructure across multiple locations, including Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and network systems.
• Set up user accounts and workstations, including Office 365.
• Configure servers and network devices such as firewalls (specifically FortiGate), routers, and switches.
• Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software (Kaspersky Endpoint Security), and intrusion detection systems.
• Perform regular system backups, maintenance, and disaster recovery operations.
• Apply software patches, updates, and firmware upgrades to ensure system integrity.
• Provide comprehensive technical support to users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets efficiently.
• Manage user permissions, roles, and access controls.
• Monitor network performance and availability, troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with company IT policies and relevant industry regulations.
• Mitigate cybersecurity threats, including malware and phishing attacks.
• Manage data security through firewalls, permissions, and encryption.
• Optimize system performance through diagnostics, maintenance, and tuning.
• Research and recommend new technologies to enhance system operations.
• Conduct capacity planning and scaling as needed.
• Document all IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of all system changes and updates.
• Oversee IT asset management, procurement, and vendor relationships.
• Manage Kaspersky antivirus software and other IT assets.
• Administer IT budgets and resources effectively.
• Generate and provide KPI reports to GRC and management teams.
• Implement security measures to protect IT assets and data according to defined processes.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage software licenses, service device AMCs, and other device renewals.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with servers, LAN/WAN networking, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Solid understanding of system security principles, including firewalls, switches, and intrusion detection.
• Experience with backup and recovery tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Skills in analyzing system logs for issue identification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a similar role.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are advantageous.
