About the Role
project44 is seeking a motivated Data Analyst to join our team in Bengaluru, India. This role is instrumental in transforming our unique dataset into authoritative insights that shape industry understanding and drive media engagement. You will be responsible for analyzing global freight patterns, identifying emerging trends and disruptions, and translating these findings into impactful reports and media responses for journalists, executives, and industry analysts. Your contributions directly fuel our media strategy, with data-driven insights currently accounting for 40% of unearned media at project44 and playing a critical role in maintaining our industry leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze global datasets covering ocean, air, parcel, and ground networks to pinpoint patterns in transit times, capacity constraints, port operations, and freight flows.
- Monitor geopolitical events, weather disruptions, labor actions, and policy changes to rapidly assess supply chain impacts and articulate the underlying causes.
- Develop clear, data-driven reports that effectively communicate complex findings to media, customers, and industry stakeholders.
- Provide rapid, data-backed analysis and context to journalist inquiries, offering expert commentary based on our proprietary data.
- Participate in media interviews to offer deeper insights into supply chain trends and breaking events.
- Collaborate with media contacts who regularly utilize our insights for their coverage.
- Validate data quality and analytical methodologies to ensure accuracy and credibility.
- Create compelling data visualizations for immediate comprehension of insights.
What You'll Bring
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, data joining, and pattern identification.
- The ability to quickly transition from identifying statistical anomalies to explaining their business implications and root causes.
- A strong understanding of global supply chain operations, including ocean, air, and ground networks, and how external events impact transportation systems.
- Exceptional writing skills for both formal reports and concise media responses, ensuring clarity, authority, and quotability.
- Comfort and experience in interacting with the media, including responding to inquiries and participating in interviews.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in supply chain operations, freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation.
- Experience in media engagement or developing thought leadership content.
- Familiarity with the impact of geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors on freight movement.
- Knowledge of data validation methodologies and statistical analysis techniques.
