Subject Matter Expert - General Studies & Psychology for UPSC Mains
Drishti IAS is seeking experienced Subject Matter Experts to contribute to our esteemed UPSC Civil Services Examination preparation programs, specifically focusing on General Studies (GS) and Psychology Optional. This role is crucial for developing high-quality educational content and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our evaluation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of previous year's question papers (PYQs) for UPSC GS and Psychology Optional.
- Identify and list test-wise topics and specific questions.
- Develop new questions or delegate question creation to freelancers, ensuring alignment with UPSC standards.
- Thoroughly review questions and their corresponding model answers for accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
- Finalize question papers and answer keys in a print-ready format.
- Evaluate and review the quality of evaluated copies submitted by students, ensuring consistency and adherence to evaluation rubrics.
Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to create, review, and enhance content related to Psychology Optional and General Studies, and to oversee the quality of evaluation for UPSC Mains examinations.
Specific Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Exceptional conceptual understanding of the Psychology Optional syllabus (Paper 1 & Paper 2).
- Proficiency in integrating psychological theories, empirical research, and real-world applications into content.
- A keen understanding of the demands and answer-structuring nuances of the UPSC Mains examination.
- Demonstrated experience in writing at least two UPSC Mains examinations or appearing for at least one UPSC CSE interview.
- A Master's degree in Psychology is highly preferred.
Major Key Result Areas (KRAs):
- Analyze UPSC Psychology Optional paper patterns and identify emerging trends.
- Pinpoint critical topics and question types relevant to the examination.
- Formulate questions that meet UPSC standards and assess conceptual depth.
- Develop comprehensive model answers, incorporating relevant examples, experiments, and case studies where applicable.
- Review student answers to ensure enrichment, proper structure, and fulfilment of examination demands.
- Perform rigorous proofreading to improve terminology, eliminate errors, and correct grammar.
- Ensure the finalization of papers in formats suitable for both print and online delivery.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on evaluated copies to maintain uniformity and accuracy in assessment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Qualification:
- Successfully written at least 2 UPSC CSE Mains examinations with Psychology as the optional subject.
- Appeared for at least one UPSC CSE interview.
Preferred/Additional Qualification:
- Substantial subject matter experience in Psychology.
Minimum Experience:
- Experience in guiding or preparing UPSC CSE Mains students (GS + Psychology Optional).
Relevant/Additional Experience:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Grok, Perplexity, etc., is advantageous.
