Full Job Description
AFRY is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Structural Engineer for its new pilot office in Hyderabad, India. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and evaluation of structures, ensuring safety, efficiency, and economy. You will collaborate with project teams on various components of hydroelectric projects, including powerhouse complexes, dams, spillways, intakes, desanders, tunnels, steel structures, and retaining walls, utilizing advanced engineering principles and FEM software.
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze hydroelectric and water-retaining structures.
- Prepare or review detailed design reports and guide the drafting team in preparing construction documents.
- Communicate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 7 years of experience as a Structural Engineer.
- Experience in the design of hydropower and water-retaining structures is a significant advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Indian and international standards and regulations, including building codes and seismic design.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools/software such as Staad Pro, Midas FEA-Nx, SAP-2000, etc.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
