Frontgrade Technologies, a premier provider of high-reliability and radiation-assured electronic solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Lead in Plainview, NY. This pivotal role involves the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for critical electronic components and assemblies. The primary focus will be on achieving significant cost reductions and optimizing supplier strategies within a rigorously regulated industry environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and execute comprehensive strategic sourcing strategies for electronic components and assemblies.
- Lead impactful deflation and cost reduction initiatives, ensuring measurable savings targets are met.
- Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, Operations, and Program Management teams.
- Develop strategic sourcing roadmaps that drive improvements in cost, supply chain continuity, and overall supplier performance.
- Build and manage robust supplier strategies, incorporating thorough market intelligence and risk assessments.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, productive supplier relationships essential for the reliable supply of components and electronic assemblies.
- Lead the end-to-end supplier lifecycle, including identification, evaluation, qualification, and onboarding.
- Manage and drive RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, and expertly negotiate commercial terms.
- Provide critical support for should-cost modeling, make/buy decisions, and design-for-cost initiatives.
- Monitor supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and spearhead performance improvement actions.
- Implement sourcing process improvements and standardization initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or electronics manufacturing.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Other degrees in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields will be considered with demonstrated technical sourcing experience.
- Equivalent applicable experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Proven experience in driving deflation and cost reduction initiatives for electronic components, and/or CCAs, PCBs, or PWBs.
- Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with engineering teams on cost drivers, manufacturability, and design tradeoffs.
- Strong understanding of supplier cost structures, effective negotiation strategies, and the ability to establish long-term agreements.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to operate independently and deliver results with limited oversight.
