Staff Systems Engineer

What you will do:

• Develop a secure, fast, and observable web configuration management pipeline using Puppet, Python, and Ruby.
• Manage a large-scale hybrid cloud environment comprising bare metal servers and virtual machines.
• Collaborate with a team to implement a 'everything as code' approach for development, review, and deployment.
• Create test plans and automate testing for declarative infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms.
• Build orchestration workflows by utilizing the capabilities of the ServiceNow platform.
• Research and integrate new open-source and commercial tools, technologies, and methodologies.

Qualifications:

• Experience in leveraging or critically evaluating the integration of AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including the use of AI tools, workflow automation, AI-driven insights, and understanding AI's potential impact.
• Over 9 years of experience managing bare metal Linux servers at scale in a production environment, utilizing configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Ability to research best practices and contribute to maintaining and promoting high development standards.
• Deep understanding of Linux server components, including networking, storage, and software packaging.
• Proficiency in documenting and communicating systems architecture.
• Comfort in designing, writing, and debugging code within a team environment, with experience in writing test specifications and understanding test automation fundamentals.
• Experience with a variety of open-source tools commonly used in production computing environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to delve into the internals of DevOps tools and technologies.
