Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

Elation Health is seeking a full-stack engineer with deep expertise in web programming, design, and technical challenges to join our application team focused on building AI-driven product experiences. You will play a key role in system design, development, and maintenance of these innovative products.

Your First 60 Days

• Ship your first AI-powered feature improvement to production.
• Partner with Product and UX teams to scope and design at least one new capability.
• Familiarize yourself with our technology stack (Python, MySQL, React, AWS) and AI integration patterns.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.

Success Metrics (6–12 Months)

• Owning significant features end-to-end from design through deployment.
• Helping shape technical direction for AI-native product experiences.
• Mentoring other engineers and collaborating to improve team practices.
• Building strong partnerships with support and infrastructure teams to resolve production issues quickly.

The Team

You will join a collaborative environment of 3–5 engineers, an engineering manager, product managers, UX designers, and QA specialists. Engineers have autonomy over technical implementation while partnering closely on feature scope.

What We're Looking For (Essential)

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building APIs using modern backend technologies.
• Ability to communicate complex technical problems clearly to both technical and non-technical partners.
• A track record of delivering high-quality software projects.
• Enthusiasm for building systems using AI and large language models (LLMs).
