Staff Software Engineer (Backend) - Remote

Arcana is seeking a highly skilled Staff/Lead Backend Engineer to join our remote engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will design and scale compute and I/O-intensive backend systems that power our sophisticated financial analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and optimize high-performance backend systems using Python with a focus on durability and scale.
• Manage high concurrency and massive data volumes to meet industry benchmarks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into resilient system architectures.
• Utilize advanced storage solutions including PostgreSQL, Redis, and ClickHouse to ensure system integrity.
• Drive engineering excellence through robust testing, CI/CD practices, and code reviews.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Tier 1 institutions preferred with strong academic records).
• Minimum of 5 years of professional backend development experience using Python.
• Proven expertise in scaling performance-intensive applications and handling concurrent requests.
• Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and advanced system design principles.
• Familiarity with database performance tuning; fintech or financial sector experience is highly preferred.
