Staff Software Engineer

Samsara Technologies India Private Limited is seeking a Staff Engineer to join its Platform & Infrastructure organization in Bengaluru. This team is responsible for building and maintaining foundational systems that power Samsara's rapidly expanding software products and customer base. Key areas include Reporting, Automations, Enterprise capabilities, and core infrastructure such as container orchestration, data storage, real-time data ingestion, and GraphQL execution.

As a Staff Engineer, you will be instrumental in defining the technical direction, providing expert guidance on technical design and architecture, and enabling the development of complex features and customer use cases. You will collaborate with highly skilled engineers on critical projects, driving Samsara's technical capabilities forward. This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week in the Bengaluru office located at Prestige Tech Park.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent, 12+ years of software development experience with at least 4 years in an architectural or leadership role, strong programming fundamentals, 4+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems, 4+ years of leading cross-organization projects, and expertise with web services deployed on major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Preferred qualifications include 15+ years of relevant industry experience, a passion for leading and mentoring engineers, experience fostering collaboration across diverse engineering disciplines, expertise in writing high-quality, performant code, production experience with JavaScript or client-side code, expertise in large-scale enterprise applications, and advanced knowledge of at-scale stream-processing decision engines.
