Staff Software Engineer

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with expertise in Java backend development to join our team in Hyderabad, India. In this role, you will:

• Develop high-quality, scalable, and reusable code by adhering to software engineering best practices, including code reviews and unit testing.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand requirements and take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from design and implementation to test automation and delivery.
• Design user-friendly software that allows customers to extend and customize functionality.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features, as well as enhance existing ones.
• Mentor colleagues and promote knowledge sharing within the team.

What you bring:

• Experience leveraging or critically thinking about AI integration into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's impact.
• 6+ years of strong Java programming skills, including multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
• Solid understanding of database systems, query processing, and transaction management, with knowledge of SQL engines and query optimizers.
• Experience with modern Data Warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and Data Lakes (e.g., Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Hudi) is a plus.
• Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
• Experience with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.
• Strong analytical and design skills.
• Ability to manage projects with significant technical risk at a team level.
• Experience in prompt engineering and Generative AI is a plus.
• Experience using AI productivity tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, etc., is a plus.
