Staff Software Engineer

Storable is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Hyderabad, Telangana. This senior technical leadership role involves designing, building, and scaling our core platform across the full stack, including a PHP backend, React frontends, and an AWS-based cloud infrastructure. You will be a hands-on leader responsible for delivering high-quality code, mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, and collaborating closely with product and design teams to drive business impact.

Key responsibilities include leading the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems in PHP, React, and AWS. You will own complex features end-to-end, influence technical direction, and establish best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD. Collaboration with product, design, and business stakeholders is crucial, as is mentoring engineers and shaping the engineering culture. Ensuring system performance and reliability on AWS, leveraging services like RDS, ECS/Lambda, S3, and CloudFront, is also a core part of the role. Continuous improvement of performance, security, scalability, and developer experience will be a key focus.

We are looking for candidates with 12+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or staff-level role. Strong backend expertise in PHP (modern frameworks or large-scale monoliths) and relational database design (MySQL) is essential. Frontend proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern tooling is required. Hands-on experience with AWS services (RDS, ECS/Lambda, S3, CloudFront, IAM, networking) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker) are expected. Proven system design capabilities for SaaS, multi-tenant, or multi-db architectures, along with demonstrated leadership and mentorship experience, are critical. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are a must.

Nice to have qualifications include experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms, API design patterns (REST/GraphQL), exposure to microservices or modular monoliths, and a background in hospitality, travel, or property management systems.
