Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Staff Software Engineer on our modern agile team:

• Become an expert and major contributor for designs and implementation efforts of the IBM Cloud Platform Services ecosystem.
• Develop highly-available, distributed cloud services with emphasis on security, scalability, and user experience using technologies like Java, Node.js, Golang, Cloudant, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and more.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing tools, frameworks, and workflows.
• Document your experiences and mentor the next generation of cloud engineers within our strong team culture driven to create world-class services.

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Required Technical Expertise

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years of hands-on development experience building applications using Java, Node.js, Golang, NoSQL DBs, Redis, distributed caches, containers, etc.
• 1+ years of experience with web technologies including HTTP, REST, JSON, HTML, JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of micro-service architecture and modern cloud programming practices; strong ability to design clean, developer-friendly APIs.
• Passion for continuous learning and applying new technologies while mentoring others.
• Keen troubleshooting skills with excellent verbal/written communication abilities.

Preferred Technical Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, cryptography principles, certifications, and compliance standards.
• Experience remotely supporting customer engagements to drive adoption.
• Background building/operating highly secured distributed cloud services on IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, Docker, container orchestration platforms, performance testing tools, or DevOps methodologies.
