Staff Software Engineer

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team at LinkedIn. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of engineers to design, build, and optimize large-scale distributed systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. Your responsibilities include:

• Leading architectural decisions across synchronous and asynchronous design patterns.
• Developing platforms, services, and tools to abstract complexity and boost developer productivity.
• Writing high-quality, maintainable code with rigorous testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex production issues across multiple technology layers.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., AI, data infrastructure, product) to deliver scalable, reliable platforms.
• Mentoring engineers to enhance technical execution, system design, and engineering craftsmanship.

Qualifications:

• Basic: BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent, 6+ years in software design/development, 5+ years in object-oriented languages (Java, C++, Python), and 3+ years in large-scale distributed systems.
• Preferred: MS/PhD in Computer Science, 8+ years in production-grade distributed systems, expertise in Kafka/Spark, and leadership in scalable infrastructure design.
