Staff Software Engineer - Chennai, TN

Trimble is seeking a highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This role is pivotal in shaping our technical direction and ensuring the successful delivery of complex software solutions. You will serve as a key technical liaison, bridging communication between various teams and product components, proactively identifying and mitigating potential issues, and escalating when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and coach team members on technical best practices and development methodologies to foster a high-performing implementation team.
• Champion adherence to development processes across the teams you collaborate with.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance on coding challenges, and contribute to code development as needed.
• Drive customer-reported issues to prompt and satisfactory resolution.
• Actively participate in recruitment initiatives for the division.
• Organize and lead technical review sessions to uphold the highest quality standards.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Significant experience in designing and building highly secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications.
• Full-Stack Expertise: Deep development experience in web full-stack technologies, with a strong preference for C# .NET and React.
• Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on development experience with cloud technologies, strongly preferring Azure, with AWS as a secondary consideration.
• Databases & APIs: Extensive experience with SQL technologies and hands-on experience consuming SOAP/RESTful APIs, including proficiency with JSON/XML.
• DevOps & CI/CD: A comprehensive understanding of DevOps/SRE practices and the CI/CD pipeline, coupled with a deep knowledge of web and cloud testing processes (manual and automated).
• Foundational Knowledge: A robust understanding of theoretical computer science principles and 'O' level mathematics.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership or senior technical role.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering or a related field.
• PMI, Agile, or SAFe certification is a plus.
• Microsoft certifications in .NET technologies or Azure are highly desirable.

You will lead a functional team of approximately 2 to 5 members, overseeing one or more projects. This team may consist of Lead Software Engineers, Senior Software Engineers, and Software Engineers with either development or testing backgrounds.
