The Platform Product Group is dedicated to engineering a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform that enables swift, efficient, and high-quality operations. Our teams develop and maintain the core platforms critical to Coinbase’s existence, encompassing areas like Product Foundations (Identity, Payments, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure.

The Onboarding Platform team is responsible for developing a robust platform to manage user onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. This platform will accelerate Coinbase’s ability to launch new products and expand into new countries while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. As a member of the Onboarding Platform team, your key priorities will be:

• Architecting and developing scalable onboarding platforms that can effectively serve diverse countries and products.
• Enhancing user conversion funnels (Onboarding and Monthly Transacting Users) globally.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop platform solutions for user onboarding.
• Provide technical direction to teams and collaborate with management and stakeholders to shape strategic roadmaps.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with strong technical acumen.
• Mentor and train junior engineers on design principles and coding best practices.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
• Be hands-on with coding and development.
• Contribute to the multi-year platform engineering strategy in collaboration with technical leadership.
• Partner with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into actionable quarterly roadmaps.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of experience with service-oriented architecture.
• Proven experience in upleveling junior engineers through mentorship and establishing high standards.
• Deep understanding of high-quality code and software engineering processes, with the ability to cultivate such an environment.
• Passion for building an open financial system that connects the world.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Golang, gRPC, and MongoDB.
• Experience in building platforms.

Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual base salary for this position ranges from ₹8,953,275 INR to ₹9,424,500 INR. Total compensation may include equity, bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision).
