About Our Team

The Backend Engineering team builds high-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems powering a global travel platform for millions of daily users. We own critical domains including inventory, pricing, booking, payments, and partner platforms using modern technologies like Scala, Go, Java, Kotlin, Kafka, and Aerospike on AWS/GCP.

Your Role

As a Staff Backend Engineer (Level 4), you will design, build, and own scalable distributed systems end-to-end. You are expected to identify problems proactively, make independent architectural decisions under ambiguity, drive engineering best practices, mentor engineers, handle production issues including RCA, and collaborate across teams to translate business needs into technical priorities.

Requirements

We are looking for backend engineers with 8–12 years of experience who own distributed systems at scale. Strong expertise in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or Go is required, along with deep knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, concurrency, and performance tuning.
